Ibadan Polytechnic sends students home as alleged cult clash leaves one stabbed in the head after football match(video)

The management of Ibadan polytechnic has suspended the current Student Union Government(SUG) and asked all students to go on a compulsory mid-semester break after an alleged cult clash left one stabbed in the head and several others bruised during an Inter-faculty football match.

It was learnt that the violence erupted shortly after the football match between the students in the faculty of engineering and their colleagues in the faculty of business and communications studies.

According to reports, the violence was caused by cultists who clashed in the school. It resulted in the sports director of the National Association of Polytechnic Engineering Students (NAPES), Tobi Oyeniyi, being stabbed in the head while a student was brutally beaten.

The suspension of student politics in the institution, according to the Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the institution, Alhaji Soladoye Adewole, was necessary in order to forestall breakdown of peace in the institution.
