Ibom Air passenger breaks silence after release from prison

Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behaviour aboard an Ibom Air flight, has spoken publicly for the first time since her release from prison.

Her discharge came on Wednesday after an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, struck out the five-count charge against her.

Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami freed her following a request by the police to withdraw the case.

Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that both the airline and the complainant were no longer interested in pursuing the matter.

The charges had accused Emmanson of disrupting peace on board the flight, assaulting a crew member, and engaging in conduct capable of causing public disorder, allegations she had denied.

Shortly after regaining freedom, Emmanson took to social media to thank her friends, supporters, and God for standing by her.

She revealed that she is still in pain from her ordeal in prison and plans to rest and seek medical care before sharing her full account of events.

She wrote on her Instagram page: “Thank you so much for all the Prayers, Love, and support, I’ve been released from the Prison, but I’m still in pains due to how i was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much my Lovely Friends and Supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the button of my heart. God bless y’all. THANK YOU MY GREAT GOD!!!”
