The ICPC has invited billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote to appear before its investigators over corruption allegations against former NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed.
Sources said Dangote is expected on Monday, December 22, or to send a representative to formally adopt and support his petition.
The commission has reportedly set up a special panel of senior investigators to handle the case.
Dangote’s petition accused Ahmed of corruption, alleging he spent more than seven million dollars on the education of his children in Switzerland.
He also alleged that the former regulator issued petroleum import licenses that weakened local refining and harmed Nigeria’s energy sector.
ICPC officials said Ahmed’s resignation does not affect the investigation, stressing that the case is of public interest.
A source said Dangote will be required to submit documents and evidence before Ahmed is invited to respond.
The commission assured that the probe would be conducted fairly under existing anti-corruption laws.
The case follows earlier disputes in 2025 between Dangote Refinery and the NMDPRA over fuel imports and regulatory decisions.
