Men and women are no longer allowed to meet with one another when it is nighttime as dictated by the Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, on Monday.
The LGA had enacted a bye-law banning members of the opposite sex from meeting at night due to increase in pre marital pregnancies.
The local government information officer, Sanusi Doro, said the council chairman, Salisu Kubayo, signed the law after ten councilors of the local government area unanimously agreed to it during a council meeting.

The law also affects lovers who are unmarried and offenders are liable to six months in jail or a fine of N50,000.
Lovers were given freedom to onlyeet during the day and discuss and the law was supported by many as there was a ceremony for its signing featuring the chief imam of the community.
Also, the leader of the local government’s councillors, Sa’idu Marma explained the necessity of the bill due to increased immorality and unwanted pregnancies.
The hief Imam of Kirikasamma local government, Ali Liman, added that the law was a welcome development as it would also put an end to partying by opposite sexes which was forbidden.
This comes after Kano banned opposite sexes from using the same tricycles some days ago.
