IGP deploys new police commissioners across Nigeria


The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the redeployment of several Commissioners of Police to different states and formations across the country.

The changes, which take effect immediately, are aimed at improving security and strengthening police presence in key areas.

In a statement released on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Chief directed the new commissioners to take charge of security in their assigned areas and work towards reducing criminal activities.

He also urged them to maintain professionalism and provide strong leadership.

The deployment is part of an ongoing effort to boost the performance of the police force by placing experienced officers in critical roles.

The Inspector General encouraged the public to continue working with the police to fight crime and maintain peace across the nation.

Among those newly posted are CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid to Borno State, CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua to Cross River, CP Dahiru Mohammed to Jigawa, CP Adebowale Lawal to Ondo, and CP Ibrahim Gotan to Osun.

Others include CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, now in charge of the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, and CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin, assigned to the FCID Annex in Gombe as CP General Investigation.
