Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has removed Barrister Cyprian Akaolisa from his position as the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
The dismissal takes effect immediately, according to a statement released on Monday in Owerri by the Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba.
The governor has instructed Akaolisa to return all government property in his possession to the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice without delay.

The news came as a surprise to many, especially because Akaolisa was widely seen as a close ally of the governor.
