In the kingdom of full backs, Andy Robertson and Alexander Arnold ‘rule all’ with Liverpool

Full-backs are now an essential part of football, in terms of tactics and team structure.

The position that was one considered a home for defenders not good enough (or tall enough) to play centre-back is now a key component on the game.

The Most successful teams boast a huge chasm of quality in full backs positions, and In Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Roberston, the “Champions of Europe”, pose the best full backs in world football.

Having initially emerged as a central midfielder in the Liverpool academy, though, there remains a conversation to be had about whether he eventually moves back into that position at some stage further down the line in a similar manner to the likes of Kimmich and Philipp Lahm.
