The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the African Democratic Congress (ADC) faction led by David Mark and linked to Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, saying it will no longer accept correspondences from the group.
The commission said the decision followed its review of a Court of Appeal judgment delivered on March 12.
In a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu, chairman of information and voter education, INEC added that it will also cease engagement with the rival faction.
INEC said it will not monitor any meetings, congresses, or conventions organised by either faction pending the determination of the matter before the Federal High Court.
The commission further disclosed that it will remove the name of David Mark from its official portal.
The dispute stems from a legal challenge filed by Rafiu Bala, a former ADC vice chairman, who is contesting the emergence of the David Mark-led caretaker committee as the party’s national leadership.
