The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results for 1,951,811 candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), but 39,834 results are still being withheld.
JAMB also revealed that 80 suspects are being questioned for exam malpractice, with Anambra State having the highest number of suspects at 14, followed by Lagos with 9, Delta with 8, and others across several states.
Of the results released, only 420,415 candidates scored above 200 marks, and just 12,414 candidates (about 0.63% of all candidates) scored 300 and above.
Further breakdown shows that 4,756 candidates scored 320 and above, 7,658 scored between 300 and 319, 73,441 scored between 250 and 299, and 334,560 scored between 200 and 249.
A large number, 983,187 candidates (around 50%), scored between 160 and 199, while 488,197 scored between 140 and 159.
The lowest scores were seen among 57,419 candidates who scored between 120 and 139, 3,820 who scored between 100 and 119, and 2,031 who scored below 100.
JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, explained that out of over 2 million candidates who registered for the exam, about 1.96 million were verified to take part, 71,705 candidates were absent, and 2,157 had their fingerprints rejected during the verification process.
These cases are under investigation, and some may be rescheduled if found not at fault.
