JAMB Releases Result Of Rescheduled 2025 UTME, Announces Major Update

JAMB has released the results of the 2025 UTME resit for candidates who faced technical issues during the original exam.

Out of 336,845 candidates who were rescheduled, about 21,000 (roughly 7%) did not show up.

Even though no reason was given for their absence, JAMB has decided to allow them, along with those who missed the first main exam, to take part in a mop-up exam.

According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the results have been approved and performance levels remained similar to previous years.

The approval followed a review by a panel of experts, including university professors.

JAMB raised concerns about widespread exam malpractice, involving some students, school owners, and CBT centres.

Centres found guilty will be blacklisted, and their owners prosecuted.

Candidates caught in online malpractice, like using WhatsApp for cheating, will have their results released this time as a warning, but they are urged not to repeat such actions.

The board also approved the release of results for underage candidates, except where legal cases are involved.

However, these results won’t be valid for university admission, as the candidates had agreed to this when they registered.

JAMB also warned against unregulated tutorial centres that encourage cheating and asked the government to step in by regulating and monitoring such centres.

Despite the challenges, JAMB remains committed to using Computer-Based Testing to fight exam malpractice and boost digital skills.

They plan to bring in consultants to help improve the exam process.

Finally, the board asked people not to turn the technical problems into tribal or political issues and praised its leadership for handling the matter professionally.
