Jubilation in Anfield as jurgen klopp pens new Liverpool deal untill 2024

Jurgen Klopp has extended his Liverpool contract until 2024 making this his longest commitment to one club in his career in management.

Assistant managers Peter Krawietz and Pepijn Lijnders have also signed deal extensions to run concurrently with the German.

The Reds boss announced the new deal in a video on Liverpool’s official Twitter page.

“We decided to continue what’s worked so far, not too bad,” said Klopp on Liverpool’s social media channels. “We’ve agreed a new contract until 2024.

“That’s good news for some, not so good news for others, sorry, but you can switch the channel off now. For the others, here are the reasons.

“We love it here. First and foremost, it’s a wonderful club, we really feel at home, and understand most of the people and I thought it’s a good moment to continue this thing.

“The club was interested as well in that fact, and so we did it. It was not a difficult negotiation, but maybe we have to ask
Michael [Gordon, FSG president], about that but I felt really good during that time.

“We could keep it quiet and secret which is exceptional nowadays so this is the first time I say it, and so you are the right people to hear it. So see you all from now on, more
often.”

Klopp spent seven years at both Mainz and Borussia Dortmund before joining Liverpool back in 2015.

In this time the German has reached two Champions League finals, winning once, with Liverpool finishing runners up in the Premier League last season.

This year the Reds are on course to win a first Premier League title.
