Boniface Okoloho, the All Progressives Congress chairman in Ohimini LGA of Benue State has been assassinated by unknown gunmen.

According to Dailypost reports, Mr. Okoloho was shot and killed yesterday by unidentified assailants on his way home from a function.

The All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial (APC) candidate in Benue State, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, confirmed the sad news while showing his absolute distaste for the chairman’s murder.

“I condemn in very strong terms, this unnecessary politics of violence and bloodshed, that has claimed the life of Mr. Okoloho, our beloved brother and staunch member of our great party in Ohimini.

“Mr. Okoloho was one of the very committed leaders of our party in Zone C and we regret that he lost his life in such a horrible circumstance, in the service of his state and his party. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” Jime stated in a statement.

Hon. Jime asked that the state band together in this troubling times and encouraged everyone to be their brother’s keepers. He admonished the state’s authorities to swiftly provide the killers of Okoloho and sentence them accordingly to set an example for prospective perpetrators of electoral violence.
