Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged the speaker of the 9th Nigerian House of Representatives following the end of Yakubu Dogara’s tenure.
He garnered a total of 283 votes to defeat his only challenger, Umar Bago who secured 76 votes.
Gbajabiamila who was the preferred candidate in the last election had been edged out by then fellow APC member, Yakubu Dogara with the help of PDP representatives.

He had lost the Speaker’s position by just 8 votes.
