Marcelo has rocked Real Madrid by announcing his intentions to leave, according to shock reports from Spain.
The legendary Brazilian has fallen down the pecking other and with the arrival of mendy, the 31year old feels it could be time for a new challenge.
Marcelo, 31, showed signs of decline last year and isn’t convinced he will get the regular first team football he wants under Zinedine Zidane next season.
Real Madrid will have no shortage of suitors for the left back, who has enjoyed a remarkable career in which he has won
both the Champions League and La Liga four times.
The clubs at the front of the list to sign him this summer are: Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester united, Arsenal, Juventus and AC Milan.
Arsenal are in need of a new left-back and have been strongly linked with a move for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
But the Gunners have some major cash-flow problems and will likely be priced out of a deal for Marcelo. What’s more, they’re unable to offer the Brazilian Champions League football.
