A couple kidnapped in Aviele community, near Auchi in Edo State, have been captured on camera pleading for help in raising the ransom needed to save their lives.
According to the victim’s brother, the couple was seized around 8 p.m. on their return home from town.
Witnesses alleged that the abductors were Fulani herdsmen, who whisked the victims into the bush shortly after the attack.
The distressing video was shared by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, and seen by Dockaysworld. He wrote:
“Armed Kidnappers sent video to family of husband and wife kidnapped from Aviele Community near Auchi Edo State. The kidnappers are demanding for ransom.
I am alerting the Federal Government, State Government to swiftly respond faster and restore peace to our communities,” he captioned the clip.
The husband held onto his wife as he pleaded for help, revealing that the kidnappers had threatened to sexually assault his wife despite the fact that she was an expectant mother.
The couple revealed that they’ve raised 7 million naira and but the kidnappers requested 50 million naira hence the need for more.
