Liverpool 2-0 Watford: Salah brace sees reds go 17 points above Man city

Liverpool maintained their stunning start to the season despite limping past bottom of the table Watford at Anfield.

The Reds were far from at their best in the early kick-off, but Mohamed Salah’s curling effort late in the first half ultimately made the difference before he killed off the game with a cheeky backheeled finish late on.

The Egyptian was the source of most of Liverpool’s threat, along with Sadio Mane on the opposite flank, as a lack of fast supply from midfield limited their ability to break down the struggling Hornets.

But they never really looked in danger of failing to win the game as they moved 17 points clear of City at the top of the table before their clash with Arsenal tomorrow.
