Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 22 points as they ruthlessly dismantled  Southamptonin the second half at Anfield.

The impressive Saints could and should have gone in ahead at the break, only for Danny Ings, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Nathan Redmond to miss gilt-edged chances.

And the trio were made to regret those misses at the start of the second period when Roberto Firmino produced two exquisite assists for  man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Reds skipper Jordan Henderson.
