Jurgen Klopp’s men were comfortable winners at Anfield in the opening Premier League fixture of 2019-20.

Liverpool tore Norwich to pieces in the first half at Anfield as they ran out 4-1 winners in the season’s Premier League opener.

The Reds took an early lead when Norwich defender Grant Hanley deflected the ball into his own goal, after good work from Divock Origi.

Liverpool doubled their lead with 19 minutes on the clock and it was last season’s top scorer Mohamed Salah who applied
the assured finish.

The game was less than half an hour old when Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk scored the third; Salah swung in a corner from the left and the Dutchman powered his header past Krul.

The Reds were forced into a change seven minutes before the break when Alisson suffered a calf injury and had to be replaced by summer signing Adrian who was brought in from West Ham.

And then Divock Origi scored himself before the break, heading home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fine cross.

Teemu Pukki got a consolation for the Canaries in a morale-boosting second half for the Norfolk side.
