A man identified as Chris Azuoma has been arrested for procuring abortion for a 5-month-pregnant 15-year-old girl after he raped her in Ogidi, Anambra State.
According to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the suspect was nabbed after a nurse exposed him.
Azuoma has reportedly taken the 15-year-old to a quack who had given her abortion pills and also injected her which did not go as planned leading to excessive bleeding.
It was discovered that the abortion had been botched without complete evacuation of the fetus after the suspect took the girl to a specialist hospital.

The girl will now undergo an urgent vacuum aspiration.

Meanwhile, during interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to forcefully having unprotected sex with the victim.
He has since been handed over to the 33 Divisional Police station Onitsha, Anambra State.
