A man has been hospitalized in Ireland after injecting himself with his semen for 18 months to cure his chronic back pain. The self prescribed treatment did not seem to have worked.
The man had gone to the hospital after having injected himself with semen each month for 18 months reported Gizmodo.
He had gone to the hospital to treat the same back pain he had already been treating with his ‘self made’ remedy.
It was then, that doctors noticed a huge bright red swelling on his right forearm. After some enquiries by the doctors, he confessed that he had been injecting himself in the swollen spot with his own semen, using a hypodermic needle he bought online. The doctors then admitted him in the Dublin hospital.

A report on the case published in the Irish Medical Journal described his weird habit as “dangerous”.
Dr Lisa Dunne wrote: “He had devised this ‘cure’ independent of any medical advice.
The patient’s back pain had been caused after damaging muscles when he lifted a heavy steel object. But his unusual self medication did not relieve his pain.
Doctors were able to treat him for his back pain and his condition quickly improved after a short hospital stay.
But the patient discharged himself from Adelaide and Meath Hospital before doctors had a chance to remove the semen from his arm.
