Man utd 2-2 Aston villa: Red devils drop more points with Tottenham and City up next

Manchester United had their top four hopes dashed further as they were held by Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

United fell behind in the 11th minute, when attacking midfielder Jack Grealish smashed in an eye-catching opener.

The Red Devils were level before the end of the first half though as Marcus Rashford met an outrageous cross from Andreas Pereira with a flicked header.

The effort hit the post and rolled back across the goal line, where Tom Heaton inadvertently touched into his on goal.

In the 64th minute Victor Lindelof looped a header at the back post over Heaton after a deflected cross from Fred.

But just 112 seconds later though, Tyrone Mings lashed past David de Gea as he beat the offside trap – with neither side managing to find a winner.

United will now have to improve their game as huge games against former manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester city awaits them.
