Manchester United are reportedly considering a January move for £50m-rated Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek, 22, was a keypad figure in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season, attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe.
Real Madrid have long been tipped to make a move for the Dutchman while United are admirers.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful they can capitalise on Ajax’s failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.
A right sided midfielder is also likely to be a priority for United this summer and they are said to be keen on Van de Beek’s teammate Hakim Ziyech.
England and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is also a target but the German side are adamant he will not be sold this month.
Their resolve is likely to be tested at the end of the season though with Chelsea , Liverpool and PSG all keeping tabs on Sancho.
