Former World Cup champion Diego Maradona yesterday ended up hospitalised in Saint Petersburg following Argentina’s 2-1 victory against Nigeria.
According to ESPN reports, maradona collapsed shortly after the final whistle was blown. He was then taken away from the stadium and rushed to the hospital.
No statement has been released as to his current state of health.

It would be recalled that Maradona was watching the game from the VIP sector of the Stadium and expressed various kinds of emotional state which were caught on camera on numerous occasions, including when he gave ‘two middle fingers’ to nigeria after argentina scored their second goal.
