May Yul Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, over allegations of cyberbullying, defamation, and cyberstalking.
In a cease-and-desist letter issued by her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, May accused Ugwuonye of repeatedly publishing damaging posts about her on social media.
The letter described the alleged publications as malicious, stressing that they had subjected her to ridicule, harassment, and threats, thereby endangering her safety.
“These posts are a calculated assault on our client’s reputation and have further imperiled her safety through malicious threats and false allegations. Beyond your own publications, you have incited third parties to amplify these communications, causing her severe and irreparable harm,” the notice read in part.
May is demanding that Ugwuonye retract all posts, issue a public apology across his platforms, and halt further defamatory statements.
She is also seeking ₦1 billion in damages.The notice further warned that failure to comply could lead to additional legal proceedings against him.
