End of Season games are season-defining, not club defining, Jurgen Klopp famously promised on his arrival to turn “doubters into believers” but it is the players’ confidence in themselves which will be key in the title race.
Talking of confidence, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah have been under almost constant scrutiny and criticism this season even though they are two thirds of the most potent front three in England over two seasons.

Liverpool NO 10 is looking to complete Dream journey from Senegal hopeful to Liverpool champion.
“At that time [as a youngster], I dreamed just of playing for one of the big teams in my country, I wouldn’t have believed I could be in a big league with a club like Liverpool fighting for the title.
“But here I am! It would mean so much to me and to people in Senegal to lift the trophy.
The Liverpool star has been in outstanding form of late, scoring 11 in his last 11 games at a crucial time to keep the team on
track, domestically and in Europe.
And with the title-defining run in upon us Sadio mane form has given the reds hope to believe.
Here is a closer look at his recent stunning form.
9 – Premier League goals scored by Mane in 2019 so far, a tally matched only by Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero
11 – goals scored in his last 11 appearances for the Reds, including braces against Watford, Burnley and Bayern Munich
20 – goals is the No.10’s total this term to date, equal to his haul for the entirety of last season and level with Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s top scorer in 2018-19
49 – per cent shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season, with 34 of his 69 efforts so far on target
0.59 – goals per match is Sadio’s average in the Premier League this season (17 in 29 appearances)
7 – away goals in the European Cup/Champions League, following his double at the Allianz Arena, is a club record
8 – times he has found the net when the score has been level in Premier League fixtures this season
Mane believes his team-mates have what it takes to go all the way and they know they can return to the top of the table with a win over Spurs on Sunday.
Even though Man City will again have a game in hand, Mane points to the history of Liverpool Football Club as evidence of how they won’t be deterred in their pursuit of the trophy.
Another big performance, and perhaps another goal, from the Reds’ No. 10 would go a long way toward taking the team another step closer to the title.
