Afrobeats star Mr Eazi has admitted that his music earnings alone could not have footed the bill for his lavish wedding to billionaire heiress and actress Temi Otedola, daughter of oil magnate Femi Otedola.
The “Leg Over” crooner made the revelation while responding to an X user who suggested that he was trying to recoup wedding expenses through the release of his latest single, “Cassanova.”
In his response, Mr Eazi laughed off the claim, writing:
“U think sey music go fit pay for that wedding my G? lol.”
Another user, however, argued that his earnings from 2018 alone could have comfortably sponsored the wedding. But Eazi gave a surprising reply, admitting that the period many believed to be his most lucrative was in fact his most financially difficult.
“You got a point tho, but 2017-18 is the brokest I’ve been in the last 9 years! But all the music I put out then enter like mad sha im really thankful,” he said.
The singer and Temi Otedola reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony in Iceland, keeping the details away from the public eye. Their romance, however, has always been in the spotlight since their engagement in April 2022 in London.
Mr Eazi, who first met Temi through her sister DJ Cuppy, has often blended his music career with entrepreneurship, investing in tech and creative ventures across Africa.
His recent revelation once again underscores his identity not just as a musician but as a businessman with multiple income streams beyond Afrobeats.
The wedding has since been described as intimate but extravagant, befitting the union of music royalty and one of Nigeria’s most prominent families.
