Dare Adeleke, Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Federal Constituency Matters, has strongly criticised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of trying to destroy opposition parties in Nigeria.
Adeleke claims that Wike is pushing an agenda to make the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) the only political party in the country, in a bid to help President Bola Tinubu win re-election in 2027.
Adeleke described Wike’s constant attacks on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as both arrogant and undemocratic.
He expressed disappointment over Wike’s recent remarks, stating that the former Rivers State governor was acting as though governance were a personal affair and that his actions were causing distrust within the PDP.
He called on President Tinubu to rein in Wike, accusing him of speaking with “both sides of his mouth” and shifting blame onto Governor Makinde for problems within the PDP.
Adeleke also accused Wike of trying to block efforts to reconcile factions within the party and of taking steps to stop the PDP from holding its crucial National Executive Committee meeting.
Adeleke praised Governor Makinde for staying committed to the party and the truth, saying Wike’s words and actions have become increasingly contradictory and harmful to democracy.
