The Nigerian Army has responded to the recent viral video of a soldier complaining about the lack of weapons to fight Boko Haram.
They distanced themselves from the troubled soldier and his complaints.
In a video shared by Reno Omokri on twitter, a group of Nigerian soldiers were seeing leaving their stations. The soldier who made the video said they were heading home to celebrate the New Year with them as they cannot continue to risk their lives.
The Nigerian army responded to the video saying that it did not describe the current state of the fight against the Boko Haram.

The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an old video clip circulating on the social media in which a supposedly soldier clad with an AK-47 rifle alleging lack of arms and ammunition, among other soldiers in a remote location walking. This is not true, as the video was recorded in 2014 and therefore cannot be a true reflection of the present reality. The public are please requested to discontenance the video clip.
