The Nigerian Government has called for the immediate end to the ongoing military exchange between Iran and Israel.
The government warned that continued attacks could worsen tensions in the Middle East and affect global peace.
The call came on Saturday through a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nigeria condemned Israel’s recent military strike on Iran, describing it as a move that triggered a series of missile launches and aerial attacks from both countries.
While reacting to the development, the government appealed to the two nations to act with restraint and stop all hostilities in the interest of peace and stability.
It added that further violence would put civilian lives at risk and drag the entire region into deeper crisis.
Nigeria said it remains committed to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and resolving conflicts through international cooperation and dialogue.
It stressed that military force cannot replace negotiation and warned that retaliation from both sides will only create more harm.
The statement urged the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to step in and support peaceful talks between the parties involved.
Nigeria also said it is ready to back any honest move aimed at calming the situation and finding a long-lasting solution to the conflict.
