A Nigerian mother is seeking justice after her one-year-old baby reportedly sustained severe burns while in the care of a daycare centre in Obawole, Ogba, Lagos State.
The incident, which allegedly occurred on October 6, 2025, has drawn outrage online after an X user shared the story alongside a distressing video showing the baby’s burnt feet and legs.
In the viral video seen by Dockaysworld, the baby’s feet displayed burns of a severe degree as an adult could be heard lamenting the horrendous situation.
In her post, she wrote:
“Just imagine what a daycare did to my friend’s baby!!
A one year old child!!
For God’s sake, please this must not just go without justice being served because this woman is still admitting babies since this incident happened with no remorse and my friend’s baby has been in pain.
It happened in Obawole Ogba on the 6th of October 2025.
She claims the baby poured her flask water on herself but the damage done looks more like the result of boiling water.
She has shown no remorse since the incident and is still admitting babies daily.”
According to Diekola, the daycare operator allegedly claimed the baby accidentally poured hot water from her own flask, but the severity of the burns appeared inconsistent with that explanation.
She further revealed that her friend could not share more information about the facility because it is an unregistered crèche.
