Senator representing Enugu North senatorial district under the Labour Party, Okey Ezea, has died in the United Kingdom.

He was said to have passed away on Tuesday while receiving medical treatment abroad.

The lawmaker, who was the only Labour Party member from Enugu State in the National Assembly, had earlier undergone treatment in Germany before being transferred to the UK, where he died.

The exact nature of his illness was not disclosed.

The news of his death was made public by media personality Chijinkem Ugwuanyi through a social media post.

Reactions have continued to follow, including from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, who mourned him and recalled his kindness during her difficult period in the Senate.

She described him as a calm and caring colleague who showed support when needed.
