Nigerian senator withdraws from legislative duties

Senator Agom Jarigbe, who represents Cross River North in the National Assembly, has taken a temporary break from his legislative and constituency work due to health concerns.

The lawmaker made this known on Monday, explaining that he is currently undergoing medical treatment and has been advised by his doctors to rest.

This development has led to the postponement of a planned endorsement rally in his senatorial district.

He assured the public that the break is necessary to ensure proper recovery and to allow him to serve his people effectively when he returns.

He expressed hope that he would resume his duties within two weeks or even earlier, depending on his recovery.

While thanking his constituents for their support and prayers, he urged them not to allow political opponents to use his health situation for mockery.

He asked for compassion and understanding, stressing that anyone can face health issues.

In his absence, residents in urgent need of medical help have been encouraged to reach out to his constituency office.

The senator promised to return soon and continue working towards the development of the area.
