Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has died following a car accident in Ibadan.
The accident occurred along the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in the early hours of Monday. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle in which he was travelling veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.
Sanku, who was in the car with a friend, was rushed to the hospital shortly after the crash. Both were later confirmed dead.
The comedian, who started creating content in 2021, was widely known for his unique storytelling style and skits which gained him a growing following on social media.
Actress Funmi Awelewa, reacting to the news in an Instagram post, said she had initially received feedback that he was responding to treatment after she sent someone to check on him at Bowen Hospital.
She added that despite her prayers, he did not survive.
Tributes have since poured in on social media from fans and fellow entertainers mourning his death.
