OFFICIAL: Arsenal star becomes first player to dribble past Virgil van Dijk in Premier League since 2018

Nicolas Pepe broke a Premier League record in his very first start for Arsenal on Saturday by becoming the first player to dribble past Virgil van Dijk since 2018.

Prior to Saturday’s clash between the Gunners and Liverpool, Van Dijk hadn’t been beaten for pace in his last 50 appearances in the Premier League.

The last person to beat the towering Dutchman was Mikel Merino, who dribbled round Van Dijk while playing for Newcastle in March 2018, according to Opta.
