Former Super eagles Captain John Mikel Obi have mutually agreed to part ways with current club Trabzonspor.
This is coming less than few days after Mikel Obi refused to be substituted in a league game on Sunday aimed fears of the deadly coronavirus, a story which was reported by Dockaysworld.
“The professional football player agreement between our club and John Obi Mikel on 30.06.2019 start date of 31.05.2021 has been mutually terminated,” Trabzonspor said in a statement.
“With the mutual termination agreement, the football player has given up all his forward-looking receivables.”
The reasons for the termination of his contact are yet to be revealed, but sources close to the player understands he is satisfied with the decision.
Prior to his contact termination, Mikel Obi made 27 appearances for the Turkey side and was on a salary of 1.5 million euros per season.
