Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United could be without a senior striker when they take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday.

Red Devils duo Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are in a race to get fit, but United boss Solskjaer says he wouldn’t bet his life that the pair will be back in time.

Manchester United parted company with Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window while Alexis Sanchez also left the Old Trafford club on loan.

Solskjaer opted against replacing the duo, putting his faith in Rashford and Martial instead, but the Red Devils pair have both picked up injuries.

When asked if the duo are fit for Arsenal, Solskjaer said: “I wouldn’t put my life on it but that’s part of this game.

“You work with what you have and we’re looking forward to this game.”

Solskjaer also revealed Paul Pogba will face a late fitness test before kick off.
