Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the “different” qualities that Odion Ighalo is bringing to Manchester United after the
Nigerian struck twice in the FA Cup win at Derby.
United Cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory to set up a last eight meeting with Norwich.
The goals were Ighalo’s second and third since he joined United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua at the end of the January transfer window in a deal that was criticised by many.
But Solskjaer is delighted with the former Watford man’s adaptation into his squad, and praised him at full-time.
“When you get strikers in you want them to be happy and, confident” he told Reporters
“He has come in here and of course we still have a few injuries and it is great for us to have Odion to call upon.
“He is a different striker for us and scores some good goals, there is not many who could dig that one out for his first. We have a team of good players.”
The red devils will now turn attention to the Manchester Derby on Sunday as they welcome bitter rivals Manchester City, at old Trafford.
