Pandemonium as Ekiosa market goes up in flames in Edo state [video]

There has been widespread panic in Benin city, Edo state, after popular market Ekiosa was gutted by flames, leaving traders in tears.

The fire truck had reportedly responded rather late causing the ire of youth and market women who had lost goods in the inferno. 

The fire had reportedly spread to the Edo Development and Property Agency building.

Some eyewitnesses have said that the fire truck had left in anger after the treatment at the hands of the readers and youth.

The University of Benin fire service truck however returned withArmy personnel to extinguish the fire.

This is one of many markets in Nigeria to be gutted by fire during the ember months this year. 

Recall that last month, popular Lagos market balogun market was gutted by fire and thugs seized the opportunity to loot items from the razed market.
