The Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir Sanusi have reconciled following the intervention of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote and others including Governor Fayemi.

The intervention came, 24 hours to the expiration of a query issued to the emir by the state government, seeking answer on alleged misappropriation of the emirate’s finances amounting to N3.4bn.

Crisis started between them due to the emir’s alleged support for the opposition PDP candidate, Abba Yusuf, in the last general election.

In order to cut down the emir’s influence, the governor went ahead to creat four rival emirates and appointed emirs in each.

Daily Nigerian had reported earlier that President Buhari reportedly intervened, following calls by northern elders as the estrangement between the governor and the emir raised tension in the state.

It was gathered that the peace meeting was held on Friday night, and the Kano Governor and the emir reportedly agreed to bury the hatchet.

The Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum and governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi and Aliko Dangote we’re amongst the notable personalities present at the reconciliation.

“All I can tell you is that the meeting is positive. The parties have agreed to work together in the interest of peace, stability and progress of Kano,” Daily Nigerian quoted a source at the presidency. “The president will be briefed on the outcome of the meeting. Alhamdulillah the emir and the governor are no more quarreling.”
