Peter Obi Makes Fresh Move as Possible PDP Return Gains Momentum

Peter Obi’s move to attend a book launch on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stirred fresh speculation about a possible return to the party ahead of the next election cycle in 2027.

Dockaysworld reports that the former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate was among notable guests at a political gathering in Abuja on Wednesday, an event dominated by PDP figures since leaving the party in 2022.

The occasion was the unveiling of two political memoirs authored by journalist and long-time PDP chieftain, Ike Abonyi. One of the books, Wadata Wonders, is titled after the PDP national secretariat.

The event was hosted at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre.

At the event, Obi did not comment publicly on his political future. However, his presence among PDP heavyweights is seen as a significant gesture, especially coming just days after party officials confirmed ongoing efforts to bring him back into the fold.

Chaired by respected economist and former PDP presidential aspirant, Alhaji Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, the event also featured remarks from representatives of the PDP Governors’ Forum, including Emmanuel Agbo, who stood in for Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed. Chief John Nnia Nwodo, former Minister of Information and ex-leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, delivered the keynote address.

Ike Abonyi, the author served as media adviser to two former national chairmen.
