Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, has died following the injuries she sustained in a road accident in Edo State, Dockaysworld can confirm.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic, just six days after Ruth completed her studies at the institution.
Phyna also confirmed the sad news via an official post on her Instagram account.
A truck linked to the Dangote Group reportedly ran into her, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.
She was rushed to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where doctors amputated her left leg in an attempt to save her.
She was later transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos for proper care with Dangote Group pledging to do everything neccesary to save the young graduate’s life.
Phyna had earlier called for her sister to be flown abroad for further treatment before the tragic outcome.
