The Nigerian police has reportedly arrested popular Nigerian activist Harrison Gwamnishu over alleged embezzlement of ransom meant to secure release of a kidnapped couple in Edo state.
The development was reported by the family friend of the kidnapped victims and also media personality Verydarkman who took credit for initiating the call for Harrison’s arrest.
Recall that Dockaysworld reported that Gwamnishu had denied stealing from the ransom amount after being accused of whisking N5.4M away and only returning it after being caught.
According to the family friend who made the allegations, the kidnappers had only released the pregnant wife and not the husband allegedly because the money had been incomplete.
Verydarkman has now released a video showing the moment Harrison returned the money he’d removed from the ransom to the police after he’d been caught.Â
He further confirmed that he was arrested last night and is currently in the custody of the state CID in Benin where he’s being interrogated.
He stated that he’d be patient to see Harrison’s response after his release as he’d not said anything tangible thus far.
