Senior Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock Church has been released on bail after voluntarily reporting to the Lagos State Police Command for questioning.
This comes following a viral video that showed him holding what appeared to be a firearm during a confrontation with another driver.
According to the Lagos Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Adefarasin was not carrying a real gun.
Instead, the object seen in the video was identified as a stun gun, a non-lethal device typically used for riot control, and which is classified as prohibited equipment in Nigeria.
The pastor reportedly gave a cautionary statement to investigators during his visit to the police.
Although he has now been granted bail, the police have confirmed that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
