Hamdiyyah Sharif, a young woman known for openly criticizing the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has reportedly gone missing.
Her lawyer, Abba Hikima, made the announcement on Wednesday through a statement posted on his official Facebook page.
According to him, Hamdiyyah has not been seen since 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, when she left her home in Sokoto to buy some food items.
Her sudden disappearance has raised concern, particularly because she had previously been vocal about her disapproval of Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration.
Her lawyer stated that her family and associates have made efforts to reach her but have received no response.
He also mentioned that they have already reported the case to the Sokoto State Police Command, urging authorities to take swift action in locating her and ensuring her safety.
At this time, there are no further details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
More information is expected to emerge as the police continue their investigation into the case.
