Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a minor road accident on the evening of Sunday, July 20, while returning from Daura along the Daura–Katsina Road, Dockaysworld reports.
Governor Radda played a visible role in last week’s burial rites of late President Buhari, joining dignitaries in Daura to honour the former Nigerian leader.
The incident, which briefly led to panic among residents, was quickly addressed by the Katsina State Government.
In a statement, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, confirmed that the governor emerged without any serious injuries.
“Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda was involved in a minor road accident this evening along the Daura–Katsina Road while carrying out his official duties in service to the people of Katsina State,” Mohammed said.
He further noted that the governor “sustained no serious injuries and remains in stable condition,” urging the public to remain calm and disregard any exaggerated reports.
The governor was promptly attended to following the incident and later discharged. This was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to the late President Buhari, who shared an update on X.
“The Governor has been discharged from the hospital, as confirmed by Katsina LGA Chairman,” Ahmad posted.
