Already thimprinted ballot papers in favour of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have been discovered at Aguata High School, Ekwulobia, during the ongoing Anambra South Senatorial by-election, Dockaysworld reports.
The pre-marked papers, believed to have been prepared for illegal insertion into the ballot box, were intercepted on Saturday.
Donald Amamgbo is the ADC candidate, for the election. The party has recently gained fresh political attention following its adoption by former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alongside other opposition leaders, as a common platform ahead of the 2027 elections. Obi had earlier urged his supporters to back ADC candidates in the current polls.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is conducting off-cycle elections across several states, including Kaduna, Kano, Ogun, and Oyo.
In Kaduna, security operatives confirmed the arrest of Shehu Aliyu Patangi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent, with over N25.9 million in cash allegedly meant for vote-buying.
He was picked up at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday by a joint team of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS).
