Marcus Rashford scored a 35-yard free-kick that Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud of to fire ManchesterUnited into the Carabao Cup fifth round.

The United and England striker bagged the reds’ first goal with a 24th-minute penalty after Marcos Alonso brought down Daniel James.

And after Michy Batshuayi had drawn Chelsea level with afine and deserved equaliser on the hour-mark, Rashford then
wrapped his right boot around a sumptuous set-piece that left Willy Caballero no chance.

Rashford rocket stuns Chelsea and extends Manchester United’s resurgenceOle Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have proved a thorn in Blues boss Frank Lampard’s side this season.

They beat them 4-0 on the opening day of the season, a result which didn’t reflect the closeness of the game.

Chelsea had much more possession than the visitors here at Stamford Bridge but Rashford’s seventh and eighth goals of
the season saw his side to victory again.
