Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West and brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been granted bail set at N5 million following his recent arrest in Abuja.
Actress Doris Ogala confirmed the development in a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, where she appeared alongside Rita Daniels, Regina’s mother, actress Mercy Johnson, and others.
“Sammy has been granted bail. God did it. Nigerians, thank you. See us just coming out,” she said after leaving court.
The bail comes amid ongoing tension between Regina Daniels’ family and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, who Regina accused of orchestrating her brother’s arrest.
The incident has drawn wide attention online, with Regina and her siblings alleging intimidation and emotional pressure from the senator.
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore also confirmed the development, saying that a legal team led by Barrister Marshal Abubakar had successfully secured Ojeogwu’s bail, with the process still being finalized.
Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command had earlier arraigned Ojeogwu before a court in Abuja on charges of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, a petition was received on October 28, 2025, accusing Ojeogwu and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
She explained that Ojeogwu ignored several police invitations before being arrested in Lagos on the authority of a court-issued warrant and transferred to Abuja for questioning.
