Reports from reliable sources understands Ex Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, has emerged favourite to become the next Arsenal boss.
Arsenal could not get Brendan Rodgers and they fear that Pochettino may not be willing to destroy his legacy at Tottenham by joining their bitter rivals.
They will hope that caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg can take charge until they get the right man in place and that may not be until the summer when Pochettino would be available after his “golden handshake” after being sacked by Spurs.

However, the leading two candidates who would be available appear to be Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta and former captain Patrick Vieira, now in charge at Nice.
Arsenal’s worst financial scenario was always being out of the Champions League for three years and they have budgeted for that but cuts are beginning to bite as they face another season in the European wilderness.
But the Gunners are primed to test Pochetino resolve in the coming weeks in a view to making him the club permanent manager for the 2020/2021 season.
