Nigerian singer Ruger has called for kidnappers to be “eliminated on site when caught,” as he expressed fear over the growing cases of abduction across the country ahead of the December festive season.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Ruger warned that kidnapping had become rampant and could worsen as people travel home for the holidays.
He wrote, “I’m scared for people this December. Kidnapping has become a full time business in some parts of Nigeria and it’s only gonna get worse this festive season. People will travel back to their villages from abroad and from many other places in Nigeria. These bastards will strike hard.”
Responding to the post, a fan expressed worry over the killings that sometimes occur even after ransom payments.
They wrote, “The part they still kill after been paid scares me the most. God please see us through.”
Ruger then replied that kidnappers should face instant punishment when apprehended, saying, “I don’t want to preach gun violence but for this case, I suggest they should be eliminated on site when caught.”
